Portrait Project

My favorite picture is the one of Nick. I didn't do any filters on this picture, but I think it still turned out to be a good picture. I think that this is my strongest one because I feel so strongly about him and it came out in my art work. It shows what he is about; the Air Force. When I went to see him in Texas, I was trying to get a picture of him smiling, because he was trying to be so serious. Then I got this picture while he was smiling. I love this picture so much. I love turning pictures black and white, then making one part of it colorful.

I like the picture of me too. It's kind of the same as Nicks, it's black and white with some color. But in mine I used one filter. I think this picture shows my character, because I am always making weird faces.
I like to keep my pictures simple, but I should probably start making them more difficult. These two picture are similar because of how they look and what I did to them, with the black and white then color. Mine is different because I did use one filter in it. They are different angle of the people as well. This project helped me understand photoshop a little more. I started experimenting with the different filters and brushes. Overall, this project was successful.

Layer

This is a picture of my little brother and sister. I thought I would add candy because they LOVE candy, what kid doesn't? I didn't really like this picture, it didn't really come out how I wanted it to. I don't think there is enough going on in the picture, it's boring. I do like the colors though. I mostly used the cutout filter, I love how it made the picture look. I probably should have played around more with other filters and made more layers.
I am so glad I took this class. It's helped me improve on my picture taking and also introduced me to photo shop. I think photo shop is an amazing program. I love how you can turn awful pictures into something amazing. I am not quite familiar with all the things photo shop can do, but I can't wait to learn. :] I use it all the time. I create my own personal pictures, that are not for digital art. I just love using it and testing out the new tools.

Best one :]

This is an octopus I found in my front yard one day. I think this is the most successful picture I have taken. This picture has great composition, negative and positive space. The positioning of the picture is centered and octopus is lop sided. It shows lots of different shapes as well. The angle of the picture makes it more appealing to the eye. A straight on picture isn't that fun to look at. I took the picture from up above to give it a better look. I love the colors in it, they are so bright. The octopus catches your eye, he pops out. I like how it's an unusual picture, not everyone has an octopus in their front yard.
